Abseiling
Reach new heights
with BAC
Find your Giant Adventure in the heart of Belfast and beyond.
At BAC
Visit BAC’s Adventure Learning Park and abseil from the top of our 10 metre wooden tower or down through the main chamber of Ireland’s largest artificial caving system.
In Nature
BAC can take groups abseiling in the Mourne Mountains, and other suitable natural rock faces across Northern Ireland. We are passionate about ensuring everyone has access to Northern Ireland’s Giant Ring of Adventure.
Why Book Abseiling?
Abseiling is a fantastic activity to test your boundaries and enjoy that natural sense of adrenaline that comes with stepping outside of your comfort zone. It is fun adventure activity and also a great challenge for fundraising. Make sure to check out our Europa Charity Abseil.
Personal Development
Throughout each abseiling session, BAC ensures that everyone has an opportunity to develop and strengthen their communication and interpersonal skills with the rest of their group. -Whilst abseiling can challenge comfort levels, it allows for a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when you reach the ground.
FAQS
Accessibility
BAC has extensive experience in supporting people with a disability to abseil both at BAC’s Adventure Learning Park and out in nature. The facilities at BAC are wheelchair accessible and all equipment is provided at BAC to ensure that people with a disability enjoy the same equality of access to the outdoors as their peers.
Safety
We have been delivering abseiling sessions at BAC on our wooden climbing wall as well as at various locations in nature across Northern Ireland for the past 30 years. All of our team are SPA or Climbing Wall Leader accredited and have received extensive internal training to ensure optimal safety. Our equipment undergoes stringent checks and upgrades and our team work to the strictest of operating procedures.
Age and Weight
The minimum age is 14 years old and the maximum weight is approximately 18 stone (including the weight of wheelchair if applicable), however certain factors may affect the maximum weight, and we would advise that if you are close to this weight that you call us for a friendly chat, and we will be able to discuss your options.
Photos
It is no problem to take photos at BAC, so long as everyone in your group is happy to be in a photo. We would ask that if you are posting to social media that you tag us. If you don’t have a camera, you can request that a member of our team take a photo and send it to you following the session. This will be at the instructor’s discretion.
