The BAC Youth Build Initiative has evolved over the past 6 years and provides a significant catalyst for youth development and leadership training and development within communities. Initially rolled out across the Greater Shankill, Youth Build now operates across 5 neighbourhood renewal areas within North Belfast. Youth Build is focused upon addressing the Department for Social development (DSD) Strategic Themes of Community Renewal and Social Renewal as key to the ongoing implementation of Neighbourhood Renewal.
Presently Youth Build delivers a significant contribution towards individual capacity building through the personal and social development of disadvantaged young people and community capacity building through collaborative working and leadership training with community based youth groups, organisations and networks.
YouthBuild has forged and developed successful collaborative partnerships, networks and relationships that have enabled the project to deliver significant and measurable impacts in a number of priority areas identified within the Greater Shankill Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership (GSNRP) Action Plan.
To date YouthBuild programmes have provided personal and social development opportunities to over 10,000 young people, has delivered skills development training supported by recognised accreditation to over 600 youth and community based leaders and volunteers and has established a positive collaborative working relationship with over 60 community and youth based networks, organisations and groups.
