No matter what you are looking for in a running event, or how fast you go, Rathlin Run 2010 offers the full package!
Rathlin Run, which is in its 9th year, continues to be one of the most unique and challenging races in Northern Ireland's running calendar. The event is limited to just 300 entrants, 4 times the local population and guarantees a special running experience amidst a rugged landscape. The route offers magnificent views along the Antrim coastline as far as Donegal to the east and the Scottish islands of Islay and the Mull of Kintyre to the west.
Rathlin Island lies 6 miles off the north Antrim coast accessible from Ballycastle. The race will take participants through a series of steep climbing hills, mainly on tarmac roads but a 2 mile section midway presents a slightly challenging "cross country" gravel track. Regular water stops are provided and a full first-aid team is on hand to offer assistance if required. The race should only be attempted by those with a reasonable fitness level.
Rathlin Run 2010 is organised as a valued fundraising event to support our continuing work with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. We ask each Rathlin Runner to generously support our charitable work by raising £25 in addition to their entry fee. We can support this by providing sponsor forms and ballot tickets on request; alternatively participants can make a donation when registering online. If you are a UK taxpayer, please don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box to allow us to claim an additional 28p for every £1 generously donated.
Rathlin Run is generously supported by personal funds from www.shewhodares.org
