We would recommend that you reserve book your return ferry crossings first before confirming your race registration and payment.
Rathlin, which lies 6 miles off the coast of Ballycastle in Northern Ireland, represents a variety of topography and the route of the race will take participants through a series of steep climbing hills. The majority of the runs will be on tarmac roads but in parts this will alternate with dirt and gravel tracks.
Regular water stops are provided and mobile first-aiders will be on hand to offer assistance if required. Each run should only be attempted by those with a reasonable fitness level and who have already completed a similar distance elsewhere.
Fundraising for BAC - Rathlin Run is organised as a annual fundraising event to help Belfast Activity Centre (BAC) continue their valuable Charitable work with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people across Northern Ireland.
STRETCH YOURSELF WITH AN EXTRA CHALLENGE FOR 2014
We are asking each Rathlin Run participant to go an extra mile by fundraising or donating an additional £10 over and above their entry fee to help off-set the organising costs and to help sustain the event for future years.
Your support will help to ensure that BAC can continue to be "Northern Ireland's leading charity" for personal and social development through outdoor learning.
Organise your own pre-race fundraising event, engage your family, friends and work colleagues to support your fundraising. We can assist you by providing sponsor forms and information about our Charitable work and programmes upon request, or alternatively you may simply wish to make a donation alongside your race registration.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box to allow us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 generously donated.
Help us to keep costs down and to sustain this unique running event by encouraging a friend or family member to come along as a race volunteer. We need 6 volunteers to assist with pre race registrations, course marshalling and water distribution. All volunteers can have their ferry crossing costs reimbursed after the run and will be provided with a complementary packed lunch on the day.
To volunteer please contact Andrea Kilpatrick at

Health and Safety
The Rathlin Run has been organised annually for over 12 years and we are confident that it is event managed at the highest level with all safety considerations in place.
The event is covered by Basic Medical Provision which includes a roving first aid vehicle, first-aid qualified bike marshals cycling the route and strategically positioned first aid points along the route.
Belfast Activity Centre have public liability insurance up to the value of £5 million. Personal injury insurance can be taken out but you would need to organise this yourself.
