Sport Relief Launches at BAC

On Wednesday 20th January, Belfast Activity Centre hosted the launch of Sport Relief 2010 with local celebrities Zoe Salmon and David Healy, along with participants from BAC's new LAFTA project for lone parent families.
2010 Sport Relief will be taking place over the weekend 19th - 21st March. On Sunday 19th March there will be a Mile Run event where you can run 1, 3 or 6 miles around central Belfast. For more information or to register log on to www.sportrelief.com.
BAC intends to enter a team for the event in recognition of Sport Relief's investment in its LAFTA (Learning and Fun Together Activity) project. This new BAC initiative will involve a menu of activity options for lone parent families. The key aims will be:
- to provide space and time for parents and children to share experiences and learn from one another outside of their everyday environment
- to meet like minded people
- to engage families in healthy outdoor activity
The project will be officially launched on Saturday 20th February with a big activity day for potential project participants.
