The Belfast Adventure Learning Park, funded by Big Lottery, is based in the heart of Barnett's Stable Yard. The combination of activities, stand alone team games and initiative tasks ensure that groups of all ages and abilities are motivated, stimulated and challenged physically and mentally. More about the Belfast ALP activities…

Caving: The ALP cave has three large caverns, two rivers, a waterfall and over 200 meters of passageways. This fun, safe and totally unique activity is sure to keep everyone captivated.

High Ropes: The high ropes traverse course takes you on an exciting journey above our Adventure Learing Park starting at the top of the cave, across to the climbing tower, tight walking through the trees and then a short zip wire back to the tower.

Low Ropes: This involves a range of skills based activities to include the nightline, a low level assault course and spiders web

Climbing/Bouldering: There are a number of climbing elements to include a 10metre wooden tower to allow for various climbing elements and abseiling, a traverse bouldering wall, the leap of faith, the vertical challenge, jacobs ladder and crate stack.

Mountain Biking: We offer mountain biking from beginner through to intermediate level starting with a skills course then progressing though green, blue and red mountain biking trails including the Barnett's Demesne Trails.

Archery: This is a fun activity for learning a new skill, perfecting your aim and taking on a new challenge.

Orienteering or Geo-Caching: Put your detective skills to use, get out in the fresh air and explore Barnett's Demesne whilst racing against the clock to follow the clues and complete an orienteering or geo-caching challenge.

Canoeing, kayaking or raft building: If you fancy making a splash, why not try one of our water activities. The BAC Boathouse at Shaws Bridge is fully accessible and from there we can accommodate skills based training through to endurance or team based activities.

Team games: BAC offer a wide range of team building activities to work on a number of objectives including but not limited to, breaking down barriers, confidence, memory, improving skills, using initiative and meeting new people.

Bushcraft: Learn new skills for survival in the outdoors from building a hut and starting a campfire tocarving cooking utensils from wood and cooking on the campfire.

Choose which activities you would like to have included in your group session and our staff team will ensure that your chosen activity will meet the aims and learning outcomes for your group.

Sessions are scheduled for 3 hours (including briefing and kitting out) and the minimum group size is 8

All safety and protective equipment for the activities will be provided by BAC.

All BAC staff have extensive experience designing and delivering adventure learning programmes to meet the needs and outcomes for groups of all ages.

"It was an excellent session. Vulnerable women in our group were put at ease by the instructors and achieved a positive outcome which boosted their confidence. These women would not have achieved taking part in these activities on their own." Cathy, The Well Project
